FAQ

AIFMD Reporting Period Start Date and Reporting Period End Date

For Funds

The Reporting period start date (AIF Question 6)

The Reporting period start date [6] for funds is always the first calendar day of the Reporting period type [8] in the Reporting period year [9]. As such it is completely fixed and does not need to be entered on our templates.

The Reporting period end date (AIF Question 7)

The Reporting period end date [6] for funds is always the last calendar day of the Reporting period type [8] in the Reporting period year [9]. As such it is completely fixed and does not need to be entered on our templates. This holds even when the fund is liquidated or merged.

For Managers

The Reporting period start date (AIFM Question 6)

The Reporting period start date [6] for managers is always the first calendar day of the Reporting period type [8] in the Reporting period year [9]. As such it is completely fixed and does not need to be entered on our templates. This is exactly the same logic as for funds.

The Reporting period end date (AIFM Question 7)

The Reporting period end date [6] for managers is usually the last calendar day of the Reporting period type [8] in the Reporting period year [9]. In that case it does not need to be entered on our templates.

An exception occurs when a manager is liquidated or merged, in that case it needs to be the last day the AIFM exists and the Last reporting flag [13] needs to be set to “Yes”. Note that this differs from the situation for funds.
